Mature rating for  one cuss word, at the end. Although I do hear that word nowadays on TV I still consider it a cuss word, so I put up the warning. So there :P  And advance apologies to the Sci-Fi fans out there. I don't usually write in that vein so I pretty much suck at it.

Anyway, I'm stuck with my Camp NaNoWriMo project (it had to go all romantic on me and as I have zilch experience in that department...it's slow going) and there was this Quicksilver Challenge by FictionForge that I wanted to do, so yesterday it took over my writing notebook, then I crammed in finishing it tonight.

The key words for the challenge were "Amulet," "Time Machine," and "Escape." More info:
The Quicksilver ChallengesThe Crafter is an individual with a craving for challenges. It is with this that Fiction Forge has proposed another set of challenges, for those who wish to put their skills to the test in a much faster pace.
Enter the Quicksilver challenges, also known as the Quicksilver. The Quicksilver is basically a miniature version of the Forge, with lesser Elements to work with and without the need to prepare the plot of a short story that the piece should represent. Just make sure the Elements are visible in your piece and it is good to go! However, this also entails a much shorter worktime, with a Quicksilver running for one week and a set of Quicksilvers running for one month.

Rules of the Quicksilver
1. Every Wednesday of the month, the Forgemaster will post a list of three random Elements. These Elements can either be a Genre, an Archetype, or a Keyword, though it is possible that all of one type of Element will be in the list.
2. The Crafter, using the Elem

I probably broke about 20 rules from the challenge with this writing, (which I don't even think there are that many, that's just how skilled I am) but it hopefully snapped me out of my doldrums of writing so that I can get back to "The Mark of the Cursed" so I have something complete at the end of the month, as promised to my watchers.

As I broke the rules, I think I did, really I started just writing in hopes to get the engine going again, so if it gets rejected at least it helped me pump things up again. I hope. (I can't believe I let myself stop the novel mid-sentence. I KNOW it takes me forever to start again when I do that. Ugh.)
